It seems that Russia aims to control not only Crimea, but also the Ukrainian Black Sea Shelf and all of Eastern and Southern Ukraine and, if lucky, all of Ukraine. By putting Crimea under its control, Russia opens the way for Gasprom, Lukoil and Rosneft to cut out Western Oil and Gas competitor companies such as Eni S.p.A., Italia, Electricite de France, ExxonMobil, Shell as well as Ukrainian oil and gas companies from developing oil and gas deposits in this region.

In Dnipropetrovsk, the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission met with the head of the Muslim community, who estimated that there were around 70,000 Muslims from different ethnicities in the city.A mosque is currently being used as a sports gym, but there are discussions for it to be restored to the Muslim community.
In Kherson, the SMM observed some 300 people participating in a rally supporting Ukraine’s unity. The SMM noticed activists of ‘Auto-Maidan’, ‘self-defence’ and the ‘Right Sector’. Seventeen cars displaying Ukrainian, and European Union flags followed the marching demonstrators. Apart from a handful of uniformed ‘self-defence’ activists, the demonstrators were in civilian clothes.
