President Petro Poroshenko will call for the creation of a ten-km buffer zone on the border with Russia under a 14-point plan to bring peace to east Ukraine, according to an unofficial copy published by media today.

Today also marks the beginning of a one-week ceasefire, according to the peace plan.

According to Poroshenko, "The Ukrainian army is ceasing fire, but this does not mean that we will not resist. In case of aggression toward our troops, we will do everything to defend the territory of our state."

Putin has said that he 'supports' the peace plan.

Many Ukrainians and Russians are continuing to flee the area that is continuing to be full of armed pro-Russian separatists and Ukrainian military.
